Why does my candidate need to provide a hand signed Authority Form?

Verifile will often reach out to the client and candidate, to request that the candidate fill out and hand sign an Authority Form.

The form will allow Verifile to proceed with a background check.

The Authority Form is a document in PDF format we email out to the client and candidate.

It is available here: How to sign the Authority Form using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The Authority Form is required frequently because referees that we have contacted to get a reference for the candidate usually request it.

The referees want to make sure that we have explicit permission from the candidate to perform background checks on them, therefore the Authority Form PDF is to be completed by the candidate.

We also include a blank copy of the Authority Form in all welcome emails automatically sent out the candidate once you place an order for them.

The Authority Form document in PDF format is not to give Verifile permission to start a background check.

A candidate gives permission to Verifile to begin the background checking process when they complete the 'Authority Form' portion of the Candidate Form on the Verifile candidate portal.
