Why does Verifile need 5 years address history for criminal record checks?

Verifile requires the same length of address history that the authorities require in order to process the check.

Following the Soham murder case, the Home Secretary of the United Kingdom requested that Sir Michael Bichard lead an independent inquiry into child protection measures, record keeping, vetting and information sharing.

Because of this inquiry, one of the mandatory fields of the check is full address information for the past five years.

U.K. Government agencies such as Disclosure Scotland, AccessNI and the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) require 5 years of address history.

Authorities in other countries may differ from this, but we will only ever request the necessary address history required in order to proceed with the requested check(s).
